The blackish rail is small marshbird that is dark grey or black with white speckles on the wings and back. The uppeback is brown.
Habitat and Distribution
This bird inhabits both salty and freshwater marshland. It is found in the US, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela.
The Blackish Rail feeds on invertebrates, as well as fruit or seedlings.
Nests on elevated areas in a wetland.
