The ashy tit is a common bird that is endemic to Southern Africa. It has a blue-grey back, underparts and mantle.


Habitat and Distribution

It is found in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and dry savanna. It favours woodlands, grasslands and Karoo vegetation.


Breeding

The time for egglaying varies with locality: November - December in Botswana and Namibia, October - December in South Africa and September - November in Zimbabwe.
